My experience with purchasing traffic
Last updated: March 27, 2004

Summary: I have had very little success with purchasing traffic from Traffic Brokers.

I've paid for traffic a few times in the few months I've been a Smut Peddler.

  • I purchased ads from Google.
  • And twice I purchased traffic from folks "specializing" in adult traffic.

Google is by far the most expensive. You have to pay a minimum of 5 cents a click, but paying that miniscule amount will have them putting your ad on page 97 of search results :-D. I've had success with paying 10 cents a click. Actually made two $35 sales off of Google in back to back days...

However with the Adult Traffic Brokers I had absolutely no success.

I purchase 10,000 hits for $30 from this one guy.I got exit traffic from Eastern Europe, Asia & Brazil, all in the span of about 3 hours. All that succeeded in doing was getting me on the list of some Brazilian & Russian spammers that send me 10 virus infected e-mails everyday. So I suppose you can chalk that up as a loss.

The second time I purchased from a broker I purchased 10,000 for $25. This time it was pop-up traffic. Yes, POP UP TRAFFIC. Personally I have a pop-up blocker, so who knows how many people never saw my page but registered as a hit because TECHNICALLY the pop up window opened but the browser stopped it. I regard that as a complete waste of money and money totally flushed down the drain.

So yesterday I decided to try Google again. Just from my little experience Google visitors stay longer, actually click thru to the sponsors page and are more apt to bookmark the page. Traffic from traffic brokers has done absolutely nothing to help my popularity.
